The New Zealand Special Air Service or more commonly known as 1 NZSAS Regt, is a special forces unit of the New Zealand Army formed in the 1950s. The unit is modeled after the British Special Air Service (SAS) and runs in similar nature. The unit has been active in varies regions including Afghanistan, jungles of South-East Asia, and various parts of the pacific.
