The British Royal Marines have a rich history dating back to 1664 when the unit was formed. They were very important in most conflicts Britain was involved in and especially World War I and World War II. They were also involved in various conflicts and operations in modern times such as the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The unit is responsible for training British Commandos as well.
