Tactical boots are basically boots on steroids, kind of. Tactical boots are boots that are designed for professionals such as law enforcement, military members, first responders, and anyone else who needs heavy duty boots to perform under tougher circumstances. I don’t mean necessarily tougher circumstances such as ones that would require safety boots, like construction, so think tougher in different ways. For example, military and law enforcement members may want boots that repel water, protect the feet but are light. Tactical boots are one thing you don’t want to cheap out on, especially since with some care and maintenance a good boot can last you for a few years. With that said, you can also find budget friendly tactical boots that won’t cause you blisters and leave you in pain after a few hours of wear. The list is as follows:
Smith and Wesson Breach 2.0 Boots – $90-$105
Obviously Smith and Wesson makes guns, but they also make much more than that. The Smith and Wesson Breach 2.0 Boots are proof that the company can successfully diversify. These are comfortable, durable and come at a great price. You won’t get waterproof tech but they are water resistant, and have a slip-resistant rubber with a high-traction pattern. For the price, you cannot beat it!
Rothco GI Type Jungle Boots – $70-$80
This is basically a copy of the US Military GI boot that was originally developed for Vietnam. These boots are the cheapest on the list but they also do not include insoles. With that said, for the $70-$80 you are getting a lightweight boot that can breath with solid traction underneath.
Under Armour Valsetz RTS 1.5 Boots – $100-$120
Under Armour is known for all the gear they make for athletes, and they have a great reputation for that. They have taken their technology and applied it to making a very nice boot. The Valsetz RTS 1.5 boots are not made with leather, instead they utilize textiles and synthetic leather. This makes the boot weigh less and it dries quickly if wet!
5.11 Tactical A.T.A.C Storm Boots – $160-$180
The only reason this boot isn’t higher on this list is because of price, which is makes the 5.11 Tactical A.T.A.C Storm boots the most expensive on this list. With that said, this is a solid boot choice. If you are looking for something that is waterproof, these are your boots! There is a inner lining that is designed to draw the moisture and keep your feet dry. They are also probably the most comfortable boot on the list as 5.11 uses a technology called “Shock Mitigation System” which also the boot to maximizes compression and rebound as you walk and run. This also helps enhance traction, speed and stability.
Bates Ultra-Lites Tactical Sport Boots -$100
Bates is a very known brand in the boot industry as they manufacture boots specifically for military and law enforcement use. The Bates Ultra-Lites Tactical Sport Boots are the lightest boot on the list and probably the market in general, which is probably why “ultra-lites” is the name of this version. They are comfortable as they utilize a 1680 ballistic nylon which has a breathable liner, giving you a great feeling but also offering water resistance.
