Look I know not everyone is dead set on conceal carrying a firearm. You might be thinking, “but I’m not one of those nuts that thinks the world is going to end via zombie apocalypse, why do I need a gun?”. That’s actually pretty fair, you might feal like conceal carrying a firearm is going a step too far. But I’m going to tell you, if you aren’t conceal carrying a firearm, you aren’t going far enough and it could have some negative effects for you. Here are some reasons you should conceal carry.
Exercise your rights
If you are not sure why you should conceal carry, well then do you need more reason than you are exercising your 2ndAmendment? Just like voting, or free speech, the 2nd Amendment is a right that cannot be taken away from you, unless of course you allow it to be taken away. There is no better way to protect your 2nd Amendment right than to conceal carry.
Crime is on the rise
It doesn’t really matter where you live in the country, I can assure you crime is on the rise. Especially person crime, such as robberies and car jackings. Things happen fast out there and you’ll want to be able to defend yourself in a situation like that. A firearm is an excellent deterrent to most crimes but most importantly it’s also the best way to defend yourself in a life or death situation.
Protect your home and family
A firearm is a great way to defend your home and your family. If you are woken to glass smashing then you might want to reach for the phone and call the police. But how long is their response time? I’m not telling you not to call, in fact that might still be the best first step. But the second step should be grabbing your conceal carry firearm and getting ready to defend yourself.
Build confidence
When you train and develop a new skill you become more confident in not just that skill, but life. In particular, conceal carrying a firearm forces you to always be scanning your surroundings and seeing through to possible scenarios. As a result of this, you are literally keeping your head on a swivel. This is a common tactic for police officers and military members that saves lives.
It’s a hobby
Look, shooting guns is a lot of fun. If you start conceal carrying a firearm, you are definitely going to want to shoot it more. A lot of people who get into it, end up spending more time on their guns and more time at the range. Some get competitive and join defensive pistol leagues such as the IDPA.
Stay safe.
