“Lie down, stretch, let’s run; it’s a tank after us,” hromadske heard these words as the journalists ran, walked, and crawled to the forward positions of the Ukrainian army near Kharkiv. The Ukrainian military is advancing on the east of Kharkiv. hromadske returned to the positions of the Kharkiv Territorial Defense, where we were in May. In two months, the military advanced two kilometers to the east and took positions from which they knocked out the Russians.
Both Ukrainian-made artillery and foreign-made artillery are working here now, including the American “three seven” M777 howitzers. Also, Ukrainian aviation is active in this zone. But over the past two months, the situation has also worsened for the Ukrainian military. Although they are moving forward, the Russian artillery is now three times stronger here. The car we left parked had lost its rear window by the time we got back. The shellings here occur every day. As soon as the Russians see the movement of people or cars, they immediately strike there. Also, the forays of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have become more frequent. One such group was destroyed by the Kharkiv Territorial Defense together with special forces in the middle of July 2022 near Dementiivka.
