Tactical pants are pants that were designed with modifications to be as versatile everyday workwear for first responders, emergency medical professionals, security guards, and military personnel. Tactical pants are a game changer whether you are at the range, enjoy the outdoors, or carrying a few things with you on a day outing. The nice things about tactical pants, which are basically an improved cargo pant, is that you have better materials and lots of storage. The rest depends on the pant you choose. A It’s really hard to determine the “best” pants available, as anyone who is going to be wearing them in any type of tactical setting will largely depend on what you’re going to be doing. Here is a list of our favourites.
GoRuck Challenge Pants – $145
GoRuck makes some amazing products and their “ToughDry” material technology is largely responsible for how great their gear is. The GoRuck Challenge pants utilize this material which is lightweight but very durable. The best part is how quickly it will dry from liquds. These are extremely light and comfortable to the point where I wouldn’t hesitate to wear them everyday.
5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants – $80
5.11 Tactical makes some of the best gera around and their pants are no different. The Stryke pants line up has a variety of color options and you’ll have an impressive 12 pockets to fill should you desire to do so. Like everything else 5.11 Tactical makes, the pants are durable and will stand up to a variety of abuse. Best of all they are affordable and one of the cheapest pairs on the list!
TAD Force 10 AC Cargo Pants – $110
TAD or Triple Aught Design, has designed some awesome tactical pants that provide great features such as knee reinforced pockets, a gusseted crotch, and trip and double needle stitching. There are 2 hidden rear pockets that also are great for things like travel cash, or IDs and another 8 pockets all around. The material is 100% nylon with water repellent technology so these are going to stay dry and last awhile.
5.11 Tactical Apex Pants – $85
This is the 2nd pair of 5.11 pants on the list and the only real difference is that these feature some handy specialized features that the stryke pants do not. For example, if your local law allows it, there are two pockets sewn into the cargo pockets that are just perfect for concealed carry. There are also pockets in the front and rear of the waistband that can store items such as handcuffs discreetly. Under Armour Storm Covert Tactical Pants – $75
Under Armour has lately been making a huge splash into the “tactical world”, and they have done a wonderful job of utilizing technology they have developed through the sports industry to apply it to the tactical world. The Storm Covert pants use a 4-way stretch and lightweight woven canvas fabric which means they are comfortable yet durable, and even water repellent! There are more than enough pockets and the price point makes them the cheapest pair on this list!
