Triple Aught Design, or more commonly referred to as simply TAD, is an American company producing high quality gear and apparel. The company is based out of San Francisco. TAD prides itself on being a small, employee-owned company that makes gear in the USA. Seriously, TAD is very serious about their “Made in the USA” tag and they literally make everything they sell in the USA. We have reviewed many of their items before and it is always highly rated.

First impression is that the material is extremely light and I was delighted to see that it was coated in Durable Water Repellent (DWR). The material is 100% nylon which gives it good breathability along with the lightweight feel. Looking throughout the pants I noticed the stitching was triple and double needle stitched and everything felt relatively strong.

On the front of the pants there are two front welt pockets. TAD also put two hand pockets with coin pocket dividers, and two thigh cargo flap pockets with hidden dual button closure and internal pocket dividers. These are my favorite pockets on the Force 10 AC cargo pants as they have so many options. In the rear, there are two flap pockets with the hidden dual button closure and there are also two hidden internal rear pockets that are ideal for cash and important documents.

As far as the fit and wear, I found these to be a true fit. They did not stretch out nor did they come too tight, just perfect. TAD made sure the Force 10 AC Cargo pants had unrestricted movement and they accomplished this by creating a gusseted crotch to provide freedom of motion. I can tell you I did several tests, including some time at the range to really get a good feel for these. I never felt like they were too tight or that they restricted my movement at all. I will also say that I was pretty worried about the noise that is generally associated with cargo pants made of nylon as they tend to give that “swooshing” noise. The TAD Force 10 AC cargo pants never generated this noise and were actually really quiet pants to wear.

Overall, the TAD Force 10 AC Cargo Pants are quite good. The material is very comfortable and keeps you relatively dry with little water retention. TAD seems to have perfected the material weight with the durability which is excellent for anyone in the market for a lighter pair of pants. I would highly recommend these. 9.5/10.
