SHARKMOUTH is by no means a name brand in the “tactical gear” world but we’ve had a few people ask questions about it as it normally does come up on sale. In preparation of the black Friday and Cyber Monday deals that are inevitable on this bag, we’ve completed an in-depth review.

The SHARKMOUTH 42L Tactical backpack is advertised as a 3 day assault pack, but at 42L of storage I don’t think it’s quite there. With that said, there is room for storage. The bag is 11.4” by 17.7” by 45”, which provides 42L of storage at an empty weight of just 2.74 pounds. That is fairly competitive amongst the bags out there for significantly more money.

The bag has Molle webbing throughout for attaching additional pouches which is always nice. The contoured yoke shoulder strap system and the back area are mesh padded for comfort and ventilation. The straps and the frame allow you to distribute the frame nicely, so if you need to wear it for a long time you won’t be killing your back. The bag is double stitched with heavy duty zippers and utility-style cord pulls.

For a $30-50 bag (depending on the sale), you get a lot of additional features. I’ve already mentioned the Molle webbing but you also get a good layout with multi-compartmental space. This bag is also hydration compatible which can accommodate 2-3 liter water bags well and can easily integrate a tubing feeder along the shoulder straps.

In terms of quality, it’s actually better than I expected. The double stitching makes it much more durable. Some of the material feels a little cheap, but the finish is good. How long will it last? Tough to say but for the price point I don’t think you can beat it. If you don’t care about name brand, this is a good buy.
