I love going to the range, mostly because I love guns and shooting them. However, there is something to be said for the social aspect of regularly attending a range and meeting fellow shooters. Through my time I’ve learned every range has 7 personalities you will run into.

The friend

This person was invited by another member and generally feeling scared and excited at the same time. This person is either going to want to learn or think they already know everything.

The idiot

This person could also be known as the unsafe one. They the ones who are keeping their finger on the trigger at all times, or not watching how they are they are doing their reloads. Worst of, they are not watching where they are pointing their muzzle.

The rich guy

This is the guy we are all just jealous of. He may or may not have good taste, but he has enough money to just buy it all. You’ll be in awe of his loadout.

The drill sergeant of a range officer

I am all for range safety but take it easy, this isn’t the army. Seriously, I don’t want “the idiot” messing up my day at the range either but you don’t have to power trip on them.

The guy who always has ear protection on

Not sure if this guy is just being super safe or if he is super forgetful. Either way, you’ll find this guy walking shouting and asking “WHAT?”.

The competitive shooter

I don’t really mind this person unless they are right next to me. Then they can be really distracting with their quick double-taps and fast reloads.

The tacticool guy

This guy might come in with lots of gear, like “the rich guy”, but they won’t really have the best stuff. Instead, this guy is going to have the stuff that is going to make him look “tacticool”.

Happy shooting!
